Jose M. Meza will be receiving his Bachelor of Music from California State University, Northridge in Fall 2015. At CSUN Jose has been a soloist in major works with CSUN choirs and orchestra. Some of these works are Handel’s Messiah and Dettingen te Deum, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Bach’s Magnificat and Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, and Mozart’s Requiem. He performed the role of Le Remendado from Bizet’s opera Carmen in the first opera performed in the Valley Performing Arts Center. Jose has also played the role of Parpignol in La Bohème (AVC Opera).
Jose was recipient of the Desert Opera Theater Scholarship (2011) and the David & Judith Scott Voice Scholarship (2014 & 2015). In 2014 Jose was a winner in the Pasadena Schubertiade Lieder Competition. He is a part of two summer programs in 2015, Angels Vocal Art’s Opera Intensive and CSU Summer Arts Romantic Lied in Germany. Mr. Meza will be applying to various graduate programs in fall of 2015.
